All you need to worry about is 4 feet around you.

In the desperate, wee hours filled with rants and postulations both subtle and gross, Deeley managed to perhaps unwittingly spit forth at least 193 blog post titles during her tumultuous visit.  The first in this serendipitous series is, “All you need to worry about is 4 feet around you”.  Betwixt a malaise of insatiable opining and a blur of indulgent reckoning, we may have solved about all the world’s issues but for those that may matter to most.  We laughed, we cried, we threw up.  This was just Monday morning.  A celebration of sorts that nary resembled commiseration, yet rather had the pungent odor of sweet and much-needed release.  I think we need to pollute in order to cleanse at times.  I feel different.  Not better, not worse.  Just different.  I think it was healthy to watch another soul close a wound.  I saw how I too may be there someday.  What’s more, I felt good about myself.  On the notion of what I’m loosely labeling my “perimeter of concern”, she spoke of how climbers need only worry about the 4 foot perimeter around them.  The height, the fall, the future, the past – these are all irrelevant.  Though having the path loosely mapped is critical in advance, it’s not what is happening moment to moment, and more importantly, keeping you on that rock.  Interesting how many believe that we are walking backwards through life and the future is behind us as it’s what we can’t see.  It’s only our past that lies “before” us.  Thanks, Deeley.  You’ve fueled many a scribbling.
